Google Play credit is what keeps an Android subscription alive when the card behind it stops working. It covers apps, in-app purchases, anything billed through Play, plus books and films. Because Play handles the billing for a large share of Android subscriptions, topping up the balance quietly fixes a whole category of failed payments.
The case for paying in crypto
Play does not accept crypto, and adding a card is precisely the step that fails for a lot of people — a card issued in one country against a Play account registered in another, or a bank that blocks recurring digital charges. Credit sidesteps the card network. It sits on the account, and Play draws from it first before touching any card at all.
Region, again
Play credit is locked to the country of your Google Play account. A code from one country will not redeem on another, and the Play country itself can only be changed once a year and only when you have no balance left. That combination catches people out, so decide which account this is for before buying rather than after.
What it will not do
Play credit does not pay for Google services billed outside Play — Google One bought through the web, Workspace, or Cloud. If that is what you need, tell us and we will point you elsewhere instead of selling you something that will not work.

Paying with crypto
Coins accepted. BTC (Bitcoin), ETH (Ethereum), USDT (Tron (TRC-20)), USDT (Ethereum (ERC-20)), USDC (Polygon), LTC (Litecoin), SOL (Solana), XMR (Monero). Any coin whose network minimum is above this order total is hidden at checkout rather than failing after you have sent funds.
The payment window. When you check out you get a fixed quote and a 20-minute window. The quote is locked for that window, so a move in the market inside it costs us, not you. Send the exact amount shown; a different amount has to be reconciled by hand.
If the rate moves. Pay after the window and the quote no longer applies. Your funds are not lost — the payment lands in a hold state and we settle it by hand, either topping up or refunding the difference.
Delivery. The moment your payment reaches enough confirmations, we email your code to the address on the order. In stock that is minutes. If we have sold out between your payment and our stock check we tell you so honestly, buy it, and it lands within a few hours. Keep that email private — anyone who reads it can redeem the code.
Refunds. Crypto payments cannot be reversed by us or by your wallet. If we cannot deliver what you bought we send funds back by hand from our wallet, minus the network fee, usually within a business day. A code we have already emailed you cannot be refunded — once it has left our hands we cannot know whether it has been redeemed.

Will it pay for Google One or Workspace?
Only if that subscription is billed through Google Play. Anything bought directly on the web is billed separately and Play credit will not cover it.
