An Xbox gift card credits your Microsoft account balance, and that balance is unusually flexible: it spends across Xbox games and add-ons, Game Pass, and in most regions the wider Microsoft Store on Windows too. One top-up covers console and PC, which is not true of most platform cards.

Why buy it with crypto

Microsoft does not take crypto for consumer purchases. If your card is failing on a Game Pass renewal — a common problem with cards issued outside the account's billing country — putting balance on the account fixes it without a new card, a new bank, or a call to support. Microsoft draws from balance before charging anything else.

Region and what it covers

Xbox gift cards are region-locked to the country of the Microsoft account. The country on the account is what matters, not where you are. Unlike some platforms, Microsoft does let you change your account country, but doing so with a balance still on it can strand those funds — so top up after any change, not before.

One honest limit: account balance covers consumer purchases. It does not pay for Microsoft 365 business plans or Azure, which bill through a different system entirely.

Balance attaches to whichever Microsoft account redeems the code, and it cannot be moved afterwards. If you are buying this for somebody else, send them the code rather than redeeming it yourself.
