Install it before you fly
Scan the code while you still have wi-fi at home. Downloading the profile needs a connection, and doing it after you land — with no data and no free airport wi-fi — is how people end up paying roaming rates anyway. On most plans the clock starts when the profile first connects in the US, so installing early costs you nothing.
What it does not do
It is data only. You will not get a US phone number, which matters if you were planning to receive SMS verification codes from an American service — those need a real US line. Calls and messages over WhatsApp, Signal, FaceTime or any other app work perfectly well on the data.

Paying with crypto

If we have sold out between your payment and our stock check we tell you so honestly, buy it, and it lands within a few hours. Keep that email private — anyone who reads it can redeem the code.
Refunds. Crypto payments cannot be reversed by us or by your wallet. If we cannot deliver what you bought we send funds back by hand from our wallet, minus the network fee, usually within a business day. A code we have already emailed you cannot be refunded — once it has left our hands we cannot know whether it has been redeemed.

No — these are data-only plans. If you need to receive US SMS verification codes, this will not do it. App-based calls and messaging work fine.

When does it start counting?
When the profile first connects to a network in the US on most plans, not when you scan the QR. Install it at home on wi-fi.
Does my normal SIM keep working?
Yes, for calls and texts. Turn its data roaming off so your home carrier cannot bill you alongside this.
